We're
having a T-Day Event to Celebrate the 100-Year Anniversary of Lincoln High
School!
Do you remember our Mr. and Mrs.
Lincoln? (Don Brown & Marilyn Spurr)
Traditions Day began in 1945 from an idea by
Jo Case Dawson, Class of 1945. This celebration continued every February
until the close of the school in 1981. It seems fitting to have a new
Traditions Day during our 100 Year Anniversary Celebrations, so mark your
calendars and get ready!
Date: February 16, 2008
Time: 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM
Location: Lincoln High School
Cost: $15 per person (at the door - see below for entrances)
Program:
The program will begin at 6:30 PM in the gymnasium with a Welcome
from Lorna Tampico Hamill, our 2008 President, followed by a parade of all the
Mr. and Mrs. Lincolns we can find from 1945-1981. (Please see the list in
this Totem of all the Mr. and Mrs. Lincolns to help us locate as many as we
can.)
Then, get your dancing shoes on! After the parade of Mr. and Mrs. Lincolns,
there will be a Dance hosted by the Class of 1971 beginning at 7:00 PM
in the gymnasium featuring music from the 1930's to the 1980's, including
swing, rock and everything in between.
There will also be historical displays in the main building and refreshments
in the Cafeteria. We will also be selling Lincoln High School
merchandise for the benefit of our Scholarship Program. Bring your wallet
and fill your closet, all for a great cause!
Parking will be available in
the lot north of the school (enter on Interlake Avenue North). Handicapped
parking is available in the north lot and in the courtyard (enter on N 43rd).
The two entrances to the festivities will both be in the inner
courtyard; the door leading to the cafeteria and the door to the gymnasium
Volunteers are always needed
for the committee and for admission tables, set-up and clean up. If you can
help, call Shelagh Hayden Bradley at 206-364-5236.
See you there!
